Compassionate End-of-life Care
Comfort companions, spiritual support, pet visitors, and supportive care are just a few of our specialty services we will offer. At Villa Teresa, our focus is on helping guests live as fully as possible according to their personal preferences, goals, and values.
What 24/7 compassionate care looks like:
- Personal care (bathing, toileting, dressing, help with transfers and
repositioning, assistance with eating, medications, etc.) - Meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping
- Comfort care and symptom management
- Education about disease progression and the dying process
- Collaboration with hospice providers
- A peaceful, comfortable end-of-life experience for all involved
We will be unable to provide skilled nursing care or treatments such as:
- Tube Feedings
- IV, IM, and SQ medications/infusions
- Dressing changes
- Blood sugar management
- Tracheostomy care
- Acute or inpatient level of care
In addition, we are limited in our ability to provide care to people over 250 lbs.
Guidelines for Admission
All Villa Teresa guests must:
- Be a patient of a hospice company that services Rockwall County, TX
- Be diagnosed with a terminal disease/condition with a prognosis of
three months or less to live - Have a signed Out-of-Hospital Do Not Resuscitate form (OOH DNR)
- Have a person responsible for the guest’s healthcare decisions and
financial matters - Have a hospice plan for continued care in case of discharge
Other guest criteria:
- No infectious/contagious diseases or conditions (COVID-19, Hep C, HIV,
MRSA, shingles, scabies, lice, complex wounds. etc.) - No IVs or in-use feeding tubes
- Applicants with dementia or Alzheimer’s will be considered on a
case-by-case basis and only if either is a secondary diagnosis - No aggressive, violent behaviors
- Mental health issues will be considered on a case-by-case basis
